Unknown persons been targeting homes in Batehaven, Sunshine Bay and Catalina, a police spokesperson said.
Police say the offences occurred overnight, with thieves taking small, personal items, such as wallets and handbags.
South Coast Police District police are investigating, and have increased their nightly patrols of the area.
Police urged residents to ensure their properties are secured overnight, and to keep valuables hidden.
District Inspector Angela Burnell said it was all about making life more difficult for thieves.
"Residents are urged to lock up overnight, even if you are home and especially while you are sleeping," she said.
"We have to take away the red carpet of opportunity for these thieves. If the window isn't unlocked or open, it certainly makes it hard to get in. "
"We don't want to alarm people, we are not talking about a crime wave, or threats of violence, but what we do want is a community based approached to crime reduction.
"We need the help of the community. Neighbours are the eyes and ears of the street, so if you see or hear something that you think is not right, contact the local police. That is what we are here for."
Police are asking anyone with information in relation to these incidents to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/.
Please do not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
