RFS District Officer Brad Collinson said crews were still working to contain fires at Kings Point Road, Ulladulla, Turpentine Road, Tomerong and Braidwood Road, Yerriyong.
"Residents may also see an increase in smoke around Little Forest area around Martin's Ridge," he said.
"We don't believe it to be of concern, but National Parks is investigating."
There is traffic control in place around Deering Street, South Street and Green Street in Ulladulla.
"Our plan is, for the remainder of the day, to back burn along the asset protection zones behind the houses in those streets and run that through our western containment option, which is a road that runs down to the sewage treatment plant," Mr Collinson said.
"We've got a small excavator down there at the moment tidying up the track that runs north-south from Kings Point Road to Green Street."
Back burning will continue tonight, Tuesday, May 28.
"There are still no threats to property, but we are still getting strong westerly winds that are pushing quite a bit of smoke into Ulladulla, so residents need to be aware of that," Mr Collinson said.
Mr Collinson said the Turpentine Road fire at Tomerong has been contained on the north, west and south sides.
"We have a helicopter bucketing the eastern side, closest to the highway," he said.
"We hope to have that one wrapped up today, but crews will continue to patrol through the night.
"There is heavy smoke impacting the Princes Highway."
He said crews had controlled the fire at Braidwood Road, Yerriyong. It is at advice level, having burnt out 85 hectares of bushland.
"We had crews undertake a fair bit of back burning along Braidwood Road," he said.
"We don't have any hard containment on the western or northern sides, but the fire activity there is minimal at the moment - it's behaving itself, touch wood.
"Our main priority has been to protect the eastern side to stop it spotting over braidwood roac, which crews did."
Road closures are no longer in place, but there is still significant smoke in the area..
