So when Prime Minister Scott Minister booked the Australian voting public to go to the polls on May 18, meaning the hall would become a polling booth, Ms Maxwell had two choices.
She could make tracks or make Tracks go on regardless for the 50 artists who contributed.
The South Durras curator chose the latter and the show is giving voters at South Durras a change from the usual electoral artwork: red, blue and green how-to-vote cards.
Fancy painting and pottery with your democracy? You've got it.
