Sixteen members of Batemans Bay bushwalking club, accompanied by a visiting, local walker set off in winter sunshine to hike on forest tracks through bushland near Tomboyne Road, north of the CBD.

Along the way the group encountered four trail bike riders who exchanged greetings and information about routes to various interesting and scenic locations in the area.
Walkers were captivated by what they christened a "fungi hotspot" with three different species of mushroom growing in a small area of scrub and alongside of the nearby road. After a brisk 7.5km kilometre walk that included a few hills, it was just too hard to bypass the East Lynne Road House with its tasty selection of sweet and savoury pies.
