They included her oldest friend, Deb, from Leppington, who she met at the age of 8, her West Wyalong High School friend Lucy, who she also shared a flat with in the 1970's, to current and ex-employees of her business Stitches Batemans Bay.
These ladies came from everywhere: Bundaberg, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney and Batemans Bay.
Also there was Di's newest friend Claire, from England, who by coincidence just happened to be holidaying with her cousin and decided to come for the ride.
After a nine-hour bus trip, they arrived in Trundle to set up camp at the showground. What a hoot! The Saturday event headlined Bjorn Again. It was a fabulous day and they would recommend the event to anyone.
They headed back home on Sunday with many new friendships having been formed and a couple of girls having hinted that they are definitely going to Trundle next year.
Gals and guys, if you are looking for somewhere different to try in the Bay for a catch-up and a great coffee, The Tribe on Beach Road proved to be a very pleasant surprise this week. Great service, very friendly staff and with "winter coming", a big roaring fire inside with comfy armchairs in front of it. It will be a race to see who can "bags" that spot!
River of Art invites you to join them for a lively conversation with selected artists from this year's River of Dreams exhibition.
Mediated by Indira Carmichael, artists will discuss their artistic process when approaching this year's theme, the importance of the River of Art festival for artists and the Eurobodalla shire, and dissect the mediums represented in this year's exhibition.
The audience will also be given the opportunity participate in the discussion with a Q&A session. It's on May 18, 11am to 12 midday.
Also get along to the Moruya Golf Club from 7pm on Saturday, May 25, for the River of Art Slam Poetry night with live music by Sacred Cow.
It's clever and funny - you'll have a ball!
It's not too late to get yourselves a place at the High Tea put on by the TAFE students at the Moruya TAFE next Tuesday. Dress up and have a great day. I'm going with several friends and we are "putting on the pearls" for the occasion!
