Those relying on government allowances are severely struggling to find an affordable rental property in the Eurobodalla, according to Anglicare's annual Rental Affordability Snapshot.

The report showed those receiving Newstart allowance, single parenting payments, disability support or youth allowance could not afford any property available in Batemans Bay.
The survey showed the total number of affordable properties has decreased from 78 in 2017, 53 in 2018 to 44 in 2019.
Moruya's Anglicare coordinator for homelessness services Krystal Tritton said the results were "devastating" and wants affordable accommodation to be the focus of the May 18 federal election.
"We currently take in pretty much a person a day in our homelessness service," she said.
"There are approximately 120 families and single people that are currently homeless or at risk of being homeless just in the Eurobodalla Shire.
"Everyone wants a home ... somewhere we can come home to and raise our families or have a place to feel like we're part of a community.
"If we don't have (a home), it's difficult to access education and training.
"The effects are inter-generational if we can't meet that number one need."

She said homelessness affected the elderly, single parents, people with disabilities and families experiencing mortgage strain.
"It's particularly difficult for those people who are elderly and with a limited amount of income to be able to affordable rent a property," she said.
"Sometimes they have to forego necessary food or medical costs, or things that are basic needs, to be able to afford to pay rent."
Ms Tritton said more people were renting their properties to holiday makers, which meant a decrease in private property availability.
"The impact of holiday rental is huge," she said.
"It's virtually impossible to access property in the private rental market."
She said the housing crisis was a national issue and the government needed to provide affordable accommodation for all.
She wants an increase in government support for low-income earners and a greater availability of affordable housing options.
"Whether that be a person on the age pension, Newstart allowance or a working family who can't access affordable accommodation," she said.
Anglicare surveyed 44 Batemans Bay properties on March 23 for affordability and appropriateness to accommodate the required number of people.
Out of the 44 properties surveyed, there were 14 properties available for couples with two children receiving family tax benefit A.
There were three properties available for couples with two children receiving the family tax benefit A and B.
There was one property available for couples with no children receiving the age pension.
The Rental Affordability Snapshot report is in its tenth year.
