Bill clearly explained what franking credits are, and their history in Australia. Using graphics, he identified which sectors of the population benefited from these credits, including the percentage of people in each income bracket.

Citing recent proposals to make changes to elegibility to benefit from these credits, Bill identified those who would be affected, and explained how they could adjust their finances to compensate.

Bill mentioned upcoming local events, including a Financial Education Workshop for Older Women, and a U3A Course (Sharemarket Investing 101) and also suggested members may be interested in joining the local ASA Shareholders Group.

At EuroSCUG's next meeting, at 10am on Wednesday, May 1, at Moruya Golf Club, there will not be a guest speaker. Instead, in response to members' requests, the usual small discussion groups will be repeated after morning tea, enabling people to attend two different workshops. The groups will cover genealogy, photography, Google Keep, and Beginners. There will also be a Help Desk.

EuroSCUG (Eurobodalla Seniors Computer Users Group) is a group of people who share computer skills in a supportive social atmosphere, helping each other make the best use of their computers, tablets and smart phones.

The dynamic group has been functioning for over 10 years, with many of the original presenters still volunteering their time. To ease the burden on this small group, and allow them to take well-earned breaks, the group is always looking for more volunteers to share their computer expertise.

Members meet at 10am on the first Wednesday of the month at Moruya Golf Club, and local area groups meet regularly in towns along the Eurobodalla. Monthly tablet groups (iPad and Android) are also held.
