In the slightly shortened Olympic-distance course (1.5-kilometre swim, 37-kilometre bike leg, 10-kilometre run), Sally Jeffrey was again the standout performer.
Jeffrey returned to her winning ways, with a victory of some 10 minutes from the second-place getter.
She finished in a time of two hours, 30 minutes, and 49 seconds, with individual discipline splits of 26:23, 1:13:58, and 47:09.
Brenton Cole stopped the clock at 2:49:02, with splits of 25:38, 1:24:13 and 54:00, finishing in the lower half of his age group.
Stephen Phipps also competed at this distance, in his preparation for the Ironman 70.3 at Port Macquarie in May.
Phipps finished with a time of 2:52:06, with splits of 26:43, 1:18:15 and 1:01:18. This was enough for him to be placed 15th in his age group.
In the Sprint distance (750-metre swim, 18.5-kilometre bike, five-kilometre run), Dan Lloyd-Jones finished in an outstanding time of 1:02:12. This placed Dan first in his age group, and third overall. His split times were 10:24, 30:28 and 18:08.
Lloyd-Jones has previously represented Australia in this distance, and it seems he wants to do it again.
Lachlan Brown also raced at this distance and finished in a time of 1:12:14, placing him third in his age group. His splits were 14:42, 31:56 and 21:30.
Adrian Connor finished with a time of 1:13:43, enough to also place him third in his age group. Adrian had times of 13:13, 33:19 and 23:12.
From here, the focus of triathletes shifts to Port Macquarie for the 34th running of Ironman Australia, making it one of the worlds longest-running Ironman events.
This race involves a 3.8-kilometre swim, 180-kilometre bike leg, and finishes with a 42.2-kilometre marathon run.
Also held in conjunction with this is Ironman 70.3, a half Ironman distance event.
A number of Eurocoast Triathlon Club members are fine tuning their preparations for these races.
