Whilst Dags was in its final weeks of rehearsal the directorial team of Sam Lloyd, Kath Joyce and Jack Helmore held an information session and auditions for Macbeth.
As a voluntary organisation it is desirable to include everyone who wishes to be a part of a show, though this is not always possible given the constraints of the number of characters in each production.
Macbeth is a production with many characters and this has allowed us to include everyone who wanted to be involved.
So the cast of 26 people has been finalised with a number of actors having multiple roles.
There were also numerous folk interested in being involved backstage or in the technical areas.
Lighting and sound designer Martyn Lloyd is excited to have some experienced assistance to create the atmospheric environment needed for the various scenes - from a supernatural heath, a castle and cavern to the final big battle between Macbeth and Macduff.
The cast and crew came together for the first time last weekend to read through the script, to begin working on the set and costumes and to have a theatre working bee.
It was the first time they have come together as a group and they worked hard together throughout the day.
It was the first time they have come together as a group and they worked hard.
There is no doubt that over the course of the production new friendships will be formed.
It is never too late to get involved with the theatre and to put your hand up to help out.
Whilst the cast is complete we will always welcome more people to assist with set building and painting, costume making, backstage, props, dressers or tea and cake making.
