The river has fished a little slower this week, but last week's rain should stir things up and get the fish active.
The flats at Garland Town have produced flathead, salmon, and whiting, with the odd bream mixed in. The better fish are still up the back of the system, you have to work a little harder to get them to bite.
The best baits this week have been sand worms and white bait, with the bottom magic lure best for flathead and the shallow running prolure best for white and bream.
Tuross River
The lakes have slowed down somewhat, but the river system was on fire last week, so the area is still fishing well.
There's a good number of baits getting around the system, particularly in the creeks.
Good-sized whiting are showing up in the back of the system, and bream are being caught in most areas. Flathead have been stacked up around the four ways.
There haven't been too many reports of jewfish over the past few weeks, but my guess is there are still some around, so pick your tides and try your luck.
Prolures, mid cranks, and bottom magic's have been working well for lures, while pipis, sandworms, and pilchards have been the best baits.
Beaches
Wind Sock Beach has produced good numbers of flathead and salmon, and a few gummy sharks are starting to show up.
Night fishing has been the best time to go beach fishing this week, so well worth giving it a try.
The break wall in Moruya has fished well, with a mixed range of kingfish, salmon, and luderick being caught. Some fish have weighed in at more than two kilograms.
Congo Beach is the place to get beach worms, as they're coming in fat and healthy. The fish love these fresh worms, particularly the bream and whiting.
Reef fishing
The snapper are hammering the squid bait out off Pedro Point and the Surf Club. The morwong are still there as well, but they're not getting to the bait before the snapper. Some fishers have reported snapper as big as eight kilograms on the reefs this week.
Sharks are starting to get around these areas, particularly the bronze whalers and hammerheads.
Long-tail tuna have been caught around the reefs this week, with one fisher getting smokes several times. If you see the birds working, it might be worth having a go at the tuna.
