If you've ever wanted to know more about building green, the Green Homes South East NSW open home day is the perfect opportunity to get ideas and inspiration.
A recently completed Green Home at 6 Hassal Circuit in Braidwood will be open to the public on Saturday, March 23 from 10.30am until 2.30pm.
Walk through, look around and learn more about building green, while Green Homes Australia SENSW owners and directors Dan and Troy Vardanega provide insights into building an energy efficient home.
There will be a high-tea with homemade refreshments available with a donations box for a local group or charity. Green Homes will be matching the donations made.
The team will be present on the day to introduce themselves, answer questions or simply have a chat. Green Homes' local designer will also be present.
RSVPs are welcome and recommended by Friday, March 15 to leonav@greenhomesaustralia.com.au.
Brothers Daniell and Troy Vardanega were born and raised in the rural setting of Braidwood.
Troy started his own business in 2003 after finishing his apprenticeship in Canberra with the Master Builders Association. Daniell completed his apprenticeship in 2008, under the guidance of Troy.
In 2005 the two started Vardanega Carpentry together, then forming a relationship with Green Homes after the company sought them out based on their reputation.

The brothers have been able to further their knowledge in the fields of sustainable design and construction, and approach each home with an emphasis on energy efficiency and comfort.
Since launching their business, Daniell and Troy have been keen to develop their skills and are now proud to be able to provide high quality energy efficient homes throughout South East NSW.
They have a strong focus on customer satisfaction and helping clients realise how easy it can be to build their dream home.
The team now consists of 11 (including Dan and Troy) local employees from throughout the region, as well as a regular team of quality subcontractors and a local designer.
The Green Homes Australia SENSW team offers sustainable design and construction of new energy efficient homes, extensions, renovations, knockdown and rebuilds.
And in fact is the only builder in Australia compliant with the International Standards Organisation for design and construction of energy efficient homes (ISO 50001).
Personal service is what makes their business special.
"You are working with the one building your home from start to finish and not just a salesperson," Dan and Troy said.
"We are there from the beginning to offer our advice and knowledge on every stage of the process. We pride ourselves on having a high quality product with ongoing successful relationships with our clients.
"Building with us is building local with as many locally sourced trades and products as possible."
Dan and Troy enjoy working with the local community, building successful ongoing relationships and they take pride in "being able to assist our community in reducing future energy costs, living sustainably and providing jobs for our local team".
Both Daniell and Troy are actively involved in their community, participating heavily in local sports, and are also members of the Braidwood and Bungendore chambers of commerce and the local APEX Club.
They are both married with young children, and enjoy spending their spare time with their family and taking part in local sports.
