Max Castle, vice president of the RFA, said a temporary ramp would be built, but permanent ramps are expected to be closed for multiple years.
"At the moment, the northern ramp on Punt Road is closed, and will remain so for some years," he said. "In about two weeks, the construction of a temporary ramp with two lanes should commence, and it's expected to be operation in about a month.
"When that's completed, the southern Clyde ramp at Lions Park will close for about two years."
Mr Castle said there would be alternative options during the closures, but warned fishers to expect increased traffic at boat ramps.
"There's an ACT public holiday on March 11, and only one lane will be open on the southern ramp, so it's expected to be very busy that weekend," he said.
"Caution should be exercised when using the Hanging Rock boat ramp, especially with small boats, due to wind exposure."
