On Thursday, Shoalhaven rangers said they were working off tips from community members to track down the beige-coloured pig.
Rangers said they were "getting closer" to catching the friendly animal.
A council spokesperson said rangers were concerned that the pig maybe roaming near local streets posing a possible safety issue for motorist.
"However, all reports so far indicate the pig is friendly and just lost."
Early on Wednesday, February 20, some residents reported to social media that a spotted, beige-coloured pig had broken into a yard in Ulladulla.
About 9.30am the pig had wandered into the driveway and garden of the Scarlet Gum Child Care Centre, near Village Drive.
"It just arrived in our driveway and parents were coming in and saying there’s a pig in the car park," Scarlet Gum Child Care Centre director Justine Singapu said.
The pig snuffled through the centre's garden, eating bits and pieces before moving on to a neighbouring garden. It was fed apples and carrots by a neighbour and children at the early childcare centre quickly named the runaway pig 'Rocky', Mrs Singapu said.
"The children really enjoyed it," she said.
"So, we carried the theme on through the day about farm animals, pigs, three little pigs. It gave us a theme to work with all day which was pretty good."
After the excitement died down, staff and neighbours escorted the pig to a nearby property before contacting rangers.
However, 'Rocky' was nowhere to be found when two staff members went to check on it over their lunch break.
"She’s managed to push it [a barrier] over and get out. The rangers were there when the girls came back over," Mrs Singapu said.
Mrs Singapu said Rocky was "very tame" and friendly to people.
According to Shoalhaven City Council, rangers briefly apprehended the pig before it gave them the slip again.
If Rocky is still roaming the streets on Thursday night, it will be free to roll around in mud - showers have been forecast.
Rangers are encouraging anyone who sees the pig to contact them directly on 4429 3433 or afterhours 44213 100.
