A spokesperson said staff removed all exposed netting in the area, including at the water’s edge.
"Crews returned Thursday afternoon to cover worn areas of grass near the footpath with new turf to prevent further exposure of the netting," the council said.
"The council had ceased using turf with plastic-net backing in October 2017 due the potential for trip hazards and impact to wildlife and the environment.
"The council is progressively removing netting that becomes exposed throughout the shire. We encourage members of the community to report any exposed plastic netting to council@esc.nsw.gov.au or by phoning 4474 1000 so it can be removed as quickly as possible."
