Catalina Veterans
Precisely 100 veteran golfers participated on Thursday, February 14 in three grades. Standout performances were evident in C Grade and Ray Fazakerley is still wondering how he get so close on the 25th and missed out on an ace.

The distribution of balls went to 17 points (ocb). Nearest the East Coast Carts pin on the 25th was Bernard Hardy (A Grade) & Ray Fazakerley (B Grade)
Tuross Head Ladies
Tuesday's overcast and cooler weather was just right for the 17 ladies who set out to play in a single stableford event.
Division one winner was Pauline Nash with 33 points, followed by Leonie Snodgrass with 27 points. Division two winner was Chris Wratten with 32 points, followed by Beverley Milson, a visitor, with 29 points. In division three it was Lyn Benger with 31 points, followed by Elsa Shearer with 20 points.
Balls went to Jennifer Gray, Jeanette Miller, Annette Manton, Teri Swanbury, Dorothy Madden.
Nearest the pin on the 6th was Jennifer Gray. The Golden hole in division one went to Beverley Milson and in division two it was Jeanette Miller.
Last week three of our ladies went to Tathra to compete in the F.S.C & Tablelands gold medal play off. We are very proud to say that one of our ladies, Teri Swanbury, won the medal for division two with a 76 net. Congratulations to Teri and the other two ladies, Leonie Snodgrass and Jennifer Gray.
Tuross Head Men
Tuross Head Country Club men’s golf competition par event held on Saturday was won by Peter Hogan with an excellent score of plus 3.
This score was matched by two other golfers Troy Kingdom and Jim Wade but Peter was awarded the premier position on a countback.
Martin Booth plus 2 and Allen Lee with plus 1 filled the remaining voucher winning spots.
Nearest the pins were awarded to:
A grade player Colin Houghton on the 4th hole with 1.23 m. and Colin was also closest on the 6th with 1.54 m.
Dave Gray won the 7th with 4.24 m.
B grade best was Bruce Lidbury who won both the 4th and the 6th hole with scores of 3.75 m and 2.19 m.
Kevin Dukes took home the prize on the 7th with 12.4 m.
C grade golfer Allen Lee was the winner of the 4th hole with 2.90 m.
Steve Johnston won the 6th with 3.17 m and Mike Allen the 7th with 4.04 m.
Next Saturday’s event for men is a single stableford 2 ball multiplier round.
Thursday’s Tuross Head medley 18 hole stableford competition was won by Peter Nikolic with 37 points ahead of David Schmid, Richard Wharton and David Williams, who all both finished with 36 points.
Nearest the pins were won by Peter Nikolic, Glen Shearer and David Williams.

Tuross Head Veterans
A cool and cloudy morning on Wednesday, saw 62 starters set out to play in a 3 club stableford event. Having only 3 clubs didn't seem to have any affect on our winner, Terry Lunn, who came in with 25 points. Second place went to Dorothy Madden with 22 points, followed by Jennifer Gray with 21 points in third place. In fourth place it was Denis Benger with 20 points.
The Bradmans was won by new member Ted Quinlan and the Accuracy drive went to Jeanette Miller.
Nearest the pins: 4th and 7th Leonie Snodgrass; 6th Bruce Ware; 7th Paul Pereira.
Ball or Chocolate went to Wall Williams, David Williams, Graham Moore on 20 points and Sandra Hanlon, Mike Birks and Tim Skinner on 19 points, as well as John Cox, Paul Green, Warren Hodder, Henry Bright (visitor) Ann Ware, Noel Downie, Len Rogers and Chris Wratten. The Vets welcomed a visitor from Victoria, Henry Quinlan.
Club Catalina Ladies
A group of 70 ladies played in the first round of the Foursomes Championships and the final round will be played on Wednesday, February 27.
A Grade: First (Gross): Courtney Vincent and Judy Rimmer 93 points; Second (Gross): Dianne Gill and Helen Neave 94 points; First (Net): Lyn Barnes and Beryl Robinson 71 points; Second (Net): Pat Ware and Helen Wise 72.5 points.
B Grade: First (Gross): Debbie Rogan and Bonnie Hardy 102 points; Second (Gross): Jill Williams and Susan Bourke 108 points; First (Net): Susan Demamiel and Elaine Dawson 70.5 points; Second (Net): Donna Mills and Margaret Lyons 77 points.
The ball competition went to net 83.5.
Moruya Women
After an overcast and cooler start to the day, out came the sun bringing with it a warm and mild Wednesday when Moruya Women Golfer’s played the first 18 hole par event of the year.
While the par event is a tough round for most, congratulations go to Division 1’s Viv Thornett who played smoothly and consistently to win the day with a score of +1. The worthy runner-up was Women’s Captain, Robyn Hawkins on -2.
First place for Division 2 was closely contested by the winner Vicki Goodwin, on a count back, and another worthy runner-up Phyllis Reid, both with a score of -1.
Nearest the pin winners were Val Moore on the 6th hole and Christine Edwards on the 12th. Barbara Swain “let it fly” achieving the Longest Drive.
