The council said the funds came from November’s Eurobodalla Raindance, an event that raised more than $44,000 for drought relief. 75 per cent of that money has already been forwarded to Eurobodalla’s sister shire in Cobar.
The council’s Drought Relief Community Steering Committee will provide advice on effective governance and help select recipients of the remaining funds.
The council said there were three positions available, and prospective members were required to demonstrate how they are commercially active in primary production or rural industry.
For more information on the committee, including the terms of reference, visit council’s website at http://www.esc.nsw.gov.au/inside-council/council/meetings/information/committees/drought-relief-community-steering-committee, or phone the Executive Services office on (02) 4474 1005.
Expressions of interest for the committee will close on Wednesday, March 13, at 4.30pm.
