It’s been a big month for the Euro Coast Little Athletics Club, as they had a successful meet at the Region 4 Little Athletics Championships in Griffith.

Sixteen members of the club competed in the event, bringing home eight gold medals, seven silver medals, and eight bronze medals.
Broulee youngster Jacob Borg was the pick of the bunch, winning the 70-metre sprint, 100-metre sprint, 200-metre sprint, and 60-metre hurdles in the under 9s.
Cameron Paull picked up gold medals in the 400 metres, 800 metres, and long jump in the under 10s.
Jaleesa Smith finished second in both the 100-metre sprint and 200-metre sprint in the under 12 girls division, and Ben Fish won silver in both the triple jump and javelin for under 15 boys. Fish also finished third in the 100 metres.
In addition, the club received a grant of more than $4900 from Coles that will go towards brand-new equipment.
The money has gone towards high jump mats, a high jump may trolley and hurdle trolley, sandbags to secure a discus cage, and time keeping accessories.

Marley Camp (under 11 boys): Fourth in high jump; 12th in discus.
Jaleesa Smith (under 12 girls): Second in 100m and 200m.
Tiffany Johnston (under 12 girls): First in shot put; second in javelin; seventh in high jump; ninth in discus.
Vaughn Gilligan (under 13 boys): Third in 400m, 800m, 1500m, and shot put; fifth in discus.
Ryan Smith (under 14 boys): Second in 800m and 1500m; fifth in javelin and discus.
Ben Fish (under 15 boys): Second in triple jump and javelin; third in 100m; fourth in high jump and long jump; fifth in 200m.
