A statement issued from head office on February 15, 2019, said the Orient St store would close on April 20.
Wesfarmers, which also owns Bunnings, Kmart and Officeworks, said it hoped to transfer staff of the retail clothing and homewares stores to other outlets.
"Target is working hard to ensure our Batemans Bay team members can join another Target team at a store convenient to them or across the wider Wesfarmers retail businesses," the statement said.
It encouraged shoppers to continue purchasing online.
"Target wants to thank our Batemans Bay team, the local community and all of our customers for shopping with us and hope they will consider visiting us at www.target.com.au," the statement said.
