The swim, which will be held on Sunday, March 10, will be dedicated to raising much needed funds for the charity, and help bring the cause to the forefront of people’s minds.
Hotondo Homes in Batemans Bay has been a proud major sponsor of the event in the past, however this year they will be directly participating by entering three teams to compete in the swim.
To show his dedication to the cause, local Hotondo Homes builder and director, Darren Phillips, has committed to swimming alongside his team.
“I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact these funds have in the lives of kids who are facing the toughest battles imaginable, and I decided from that moment to help in any way I could,” Mr Phillips said.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children and teenagers battling life-threatening medical conditions.
These wishes give seriously ill kids hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness, and joy from their incredible wish experience.
“The support I’ve received from my team and supplier partners has been nothing short of amazing,” Mr Phillips said. “When I put the word out about entering the swim to raise money for Make-A-Wish, the number of hands that went up volunteering to join just blew me away.”
All proceeds raised from team registrations will be donated directly to the charity, and the team with the fastest combined race time will receive a prize from Make-A-Wish.
