“There is a case to be made for a fair go,” Mr Shorten said.
The Bay Post and sister mastheads on the South and Far South Coast have been campaigning for an 80-20 funding agreement between NSW and the federal government since March 2018.
In December, editor Kerrie O’Connor and South Coast Register editor John Hanscombe secured a bi-partisan statement of support for a safer highway from Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack and Shadow infrastructure spokesman Anthony Albanese.
Mr McCormack toured sections of the highway later that month.
