The temperature stayed at about 27 degrees which was a big relief.
Happy Australia Day and welcome to all our new taxpayers!
Carol Osling from Mogo had an unfortunate fall last week, falling down the stairs of her “chook house”, breaking both bones in her wrist. Carol said the staff of the Bay hospital were so helpful and they put the bones back into place.
Fortunately, Carol’s son from WA was nearby, at Burrill Lake, so he quickly came down to help out. Carol had to go to Bega, to have a plate inserted in her wrist.
However, the referral she had gave the old address of the Bega hospital, so they arrived to find a sign saying “this hospital is no longer in operation”.
After a bit of a panic, they found there was a new hospital and so found their way there for her treatment.
The local Tai Chi for Arthritis classes at Corrigans Beach begin again as from today.
Jenny starts her Friday class today at 10am and Dawn and Sonia start their classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9.30am next week. Beginners are most welcome.
The cost is only a gold coin donation, as these ladies are volunteers for Southern NSW Health and the classes are part of their Falls Prevention program.
Happy birthday to bubbly Kerrie Kitching Orth Dolly last Monday. Nice that everyone celebrated for you two days before Kerrie!
Jenny Scott and her neighbour Lee Marks have just returned from a road trip to Jenny’s home town of Bairnsdale in Victoria, where they stayed with Jenny’s sister. Lee had not been to this part of the world, so enjoyed seeing all the sights East Gippsland has to offer.
The “Go Racing” folk from Tomakin Club on Thursdays are pleased to be back again, enjoying the friendliness of the Club, after their break over the busy Christmas/New Year period.
Ann Stabler also had a birthday on Australia Day the 26th. Hope it was a good one, Ann.
Carlene Franzen will be licking her birthday cake plate tomorrow, so have a great day Carlene!
I have been having a break from the column and my beautiful friend Jenny Scott has been doing a great job filling in.
Whilst on my break, I appeared as an extra in a 'Skit Box' episode, so I'll alert you to when that is on YouTube. I played the part of a fancy yuppie at a North Bondi Coffee shop.
I had to pretend to be on my phone whilst filming, so I managed to play 324 games of scrabble!
