An evening of sparkling entertainment, it’s set in a radio station in Sydney in the 1930s and incorporates a radio play of the period, a one act farce, and advertisements and live music, all in true 1930s style.
Music is from Stafford Ray and the Moonlighters.
The company will be introducing their guest host, Ian Campbell, as Jack Pavey.
The show was brought together by director, Linda Heald.
“The show is a nostalgic window into a period which started radio entertainment in Australia,” she said.
It was a period of great upheaval and hope.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge was built, Don Bradman became a national figure and Phar Lap an Australian icon.
The wireless set was becoming a part of every Australian home, bringing families together to listen to dramas, variety and quiz shows.
Hosts such as Jack Davey and Bob Dyer rose to local stardom and competed for the ear of the Australian listening audience.
Tickets will be on sale from February for this touring performance.
