The 78-year-old man was last seen in the Queanbeyan area on Friday, January 11, 2019.
Officers from South Coast Police District were notified and commenced investigations.
About 7.45pm on Saturday, January 12, 2019, the man was located in his vehicle by officers from Parramatta Police Area Command on Kleins Road, Northmead.
Police would like to thank the public and media for their assistance.
Saturday, January 12: Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the NSW far South Coast since Wednesday .
Police and family have serious concerns for Douglas Nelson, aged 78, as he's believed to suffer from dementia.
Inquiries suggest his last known location was the Queanbeyan area on Friday.
Police believe he may have travelled between the Canberra, Queanbeyan and Yass areas in a 1995 Toyota Land cruiser troop carrier.
Mr Nelson is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 165 to 170cm tall, with a medium build, fair complexion, grey hair and brown eyes.
The Toyota Land cruiser is described as being white with a black bull bar, roof racks, with large off-road tires, carrying NSW registration TOP887.
Anyone who sees Mr Nelson or his vehicle, or has information about his whereabouts, is urged to come forward.
