Since that first run Kim has become very involved in the operations of parkrun, first as Run Director and then Event Director.
Kim has been an inspiration to all and has always shown the runners and walkers so much encouragement each week.
Another regular, Matt Lambert, completed his 50th run on Saturday as well. Matt was also with Kim Young at the very first parkrun in May 2016.
Matt has been very competitive with himself to do better each week and equalled his best time on Saturday. Matt has also been a volunteer an amazing 10 times, and is joined by parents Bernie and Michael on most Saturdays at Parkrun.
Welcome to one of our newest runners – Phil Thistlewaite. Phil volunteered two weeks ago with the Batemans Bay Rugby Old Boars and liked what he saw so much he came back to join in the fun.
He walked most of the way but managed a bit of a shuffle which is good for the first time. We would love to welcome anyone to come along and start your exercise program.
Volunteers this week came from within the Parkrun community so thanks to run director Anna Hutchinson and volunteers Amanda McCormack, Annie Johnsen, Jill Brown, Kim Young, Peter Johnsen and Roy Counsell.
The front pack on Saturday was strongly contested with around eight runners coming in very close together. The weather showed us a very warm run and only four PBs were achieved. Congratulations to Garran and Yma Carnall, both improving each week, as well as David Smith and John Regan.
There were 72 runners all up which is a great roll-up. With the holiday season heating up it’s the perfect time to join in.
