Students received their final year 12 marks via text message or online on December 13, with ATAR results to be released on Friday, December 14.
At St Peter’s Anglican College Broulee’s Elise Toyer is celebrating after receiving the top band in three subjects – Biology, English and Aboriginal Studies.
“I was really happy with a lot of my marks. English mark was a bit of a shock … a positive shock,” Ms Toyer told the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner.
Ms Toyer said there were a few nerves this morning before she received her results, but was pleased with her performance.
“There was a bit of trepidation, but it was good to open it and not be in that state of limbo,” she said.
She aims to study a pre-medical degree at university and work as a GP in the outback.
“The big goal is to finish uni and become a rural/regional GP. I’d go to the Kimberley, I’d got to Arnhem Land, away from the big cities,” she said.
“I’d really love to work in Indigenous communities. I’d love to become involved in a fly-in, fly-out doctor service.”
Meanwhile, Moruya High School student Molly Carter said she is “relieved” to receive her band results for the HSC – although she, like thousands of students across the state, will have to wait until Friday to discover her ATAR.
“It’s good to be over with and finally get the results,” she said.
“But it’s hard to tell (what ATAR I will receive).”
Molly hopes to take a gap year and complete a traineeship with the Eurobodalla Shire Council before studying primary education.
Molly received a band 5 in Geography, and band 4s in English, Earth and Environment Science, Society and Culture and Maths.
Keep checking in with the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner today and tomorrow as we keep you up to date with all the HSC results, as they’re released.
