Ashley Jay flew out from Canada for the event, and other family members travelled from the Southern Highlands and South Coast for the grand occasion.
Noel worked as a fitter and turner and then progressed to a toolmaker until his retirement. Joan worked as a clerical assistant at Wyong Shire Council before retirement but before that was a cleaner at Busby High School for many years.
After moving to Malua Bay Joan joined a local exercise group and Noel enjoyed tinkering on the computer, at which he is quite proficient and has helped many people over the years with technical issues. He can rebuild computers or assist with updating technology as needed (his children are most grateful).
Together they have 10 great grandchildren and five grandchildren. They both love travelling and have taken their caravan as far as Western Australia, but have also visited South Australia, Victoria and mostly love Merimbula where they regularly stay and enjoy weeks at a time caravanning.
They enjoy eating out locally at various restaurants and clubs and are happy they made the move to the South Coast, following their daughters and families who live in Kioloa and Mogo.
