A total of 73 participants joined in and it is so pleasing to know that 14 of these were walkers. The group loves having runners, shufflers and walkers all come along.
Each week there are more and more families coming along – parents and kids, grandparents and kids.
The Batemans Bay Rugby Club Grand Old Boars filled all the volunteer roles and they brought along with them an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. Thanks to Matt Ryan, Doug Denning, Mal Husband, Phil Thistlewaite, Allan Bright and Terry Cantwell. Tim Cowley led the team as the run director.
Any social or sporting clubs or businesses that would like to take over the volunteer roles on a Saturday morning is welcome to make contact. The positions are easy and the run director on the day will give training for each role.
Our special runner this week Lauren Evans who completed her 100th run. Lauren was the first to complete her 50th and is now the first to cross the line 100 times. She is consistently the first female over the line – and on Saturday to top it all off she achieved a PB time (19.54) as well.
Congratulations to the other runners and walkers who improved their times over the 5km course this week: Peter Moore, Bill Jones, Chris Lamb, Lachlan Batistic, John Regan, Sheridan Batistic, and David McCann. A special mention also to Naomi Blunden who joined for her first parkrun on her 40th birthday.
New runners and walkers are always welcome. Everyone can pace themselves and many families come along with prams and dogs.
It is great meeting place and a chance to blow the cobwebs out with a bit of exercise. Why not bring a friend?
All ages are very welcome. Just register on the website and bring your printed barcode along on the day to get your time registered.
