Singing praises
Further to the letter from Dr Susan Mackenzie (President PerfEx, Bay Post/Moruya Examiner, November 21), I would, in addition to her excellent comments, like to congratulate the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner for once again quietly contributing in the background to another very successful St Cecilia Scholarships concert.

I have been the publicity officer for the St Cecilia Youth Music Scholarships for the past ten years and the paper has always provided us (and you, the readers) with an outstanding outlet for information and photos of our auditions and concert and other events that we organise.
In fact, our organisation has three books full of Bay Post/Moruya Examiner clippings going back to our first concert in 1995. The paper has been by our side all this time. Their staff has always been most approachable, friendly, helpful and very professional in their dealings with us.
I am sure that these comments (and more!) would equally apply to all of the other community and sporting organisations in Eurobodalla. Well done Bay Post/Moruya Examiner … and thank you.

Editor’s note: Right back at you Richard and all the St Cecilia crew! A great cause and always a pleasure to work with you all.
Creative suggestion for old bridge
I’m sad to hear that the old bridge is to be replaced with a modern concrete bridge, but I also accept that will improve traffic flow.
I used to live in Wray St 35 years ago, but now live in Spain. I am a member of a Batemans Bay history Facebook group and have quite a few folk interested in an idea of mine. The idea is to somehow save part of the old bridge – the concrete counter weights or some of the steel work – to create some sort of memorial of the old bridge.
I hopefully have the support of your readers.

McHappy Day thanks
We are writing to thank the Bay Post and the Batemans Bay community for their support of McHappy Day in 2018 - the largest annual fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
The Batemans Bay community helped us celebrate 27 years of McHappy Day and raised more than $4.8 million for RMHC nationally.
These donations ensure that Aussie families get to stay together while their seriously ill or injured child undergoes treatment.
Throughout the country we saw communities, such as Bateman's Bay residents, help raise vital funds for RMHC.
We saw local Bucket Brigades, Scout groups, emergency services as well as sporting and TV personalities visiting McDonald’s restaurants, to help make a difference.
We want to personally say a big thank you to everyone in the Batemans Bay community, who got involved last weekend, making generous donations that helped McHappy Day raise more money than ever before.
Fundraising efforts like McHappy Day are vital and ensure RMHC can be there for families with seriously ill children when they need it most.
With so many Aussie kids requiring treatment, every donation goes a long way to keep families together in their toughest times. You can continue to support families in need by donating to rmhc.org.au all year round.
Thank you again to the Bay Post and the local community for all your help on McHappy Day.
