The event, held at the Hyatt in Sydney, was blitzed by the company Mr Mitchell works for. Bay & Coast Metal Roofing won three categories, in addition to Mr Mitchell’s award.
Neil Smith, of Bay & Coast Metal Roofing, said the honour was “huge”.
“We thought we’d be in the running for one, because we had a project that won the Australian Steel award,” he said.
“The we picked up three major awards and apprentice of the year. To pick up these national awards is pretty prestigious.”
Mr Smith said the team was drawn to unusual projects.
“We take on different projects, things other people don’t like to do,” he said.
“We love it, we thrive on the challenge, and it keeps us sharp.”
