The library has been closed since Thursday, November 1, to allow for a major renovation and expansion, which includes a new children’s area, reception, meeting room and creative space, improved staff areas and new furniture, shelving, signage, paint and carpet.
The project also includes connectivity to the new Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre, under construction adjoining the library.
The library was due to reopen Monday, December 3, and will now reopen 10am Monday 17 December.
Council will hold a pop-up library service at the front of the library from Monday, December 3, to Saturday, December, 15.
Patrons will be able to borrow and return books from the pop-up service, however to ensure everyone has access to books during this period, borrowing will be limited to four items per person.
