When gambler Nathan Detroit (Lachlan Brown) bets gambler Sky Masterson (Jeremy Kemp) $1000 that he cannot persuade prim and proper Salvation Army Officer Sarah Brown (Anna Smart) to go with him to Havana he had no idea where it would lead either of them.
Nathan Detroit (Lachlan Brown) has been engaged to his doll Miss Adelaide (Rebecca Pleasant) for 14 years and doesn’t see any need to get married but Adelaide has other ideas. She is sick of being engaged and she decides things must change.
Sky Masterson (Lachlan Brown) has had plenty of dolls in his life and doesn’t see the point of settling with just one until he meets the beautiful Sarah Brown (Anna Smart) who is determined to save the souls of the Gamblers, Hot Box Dancers and the drunks and crooks of the underworld of New York City. Can he convince her to go with him to Havana? Come along and find out who wins the bet.

Auditions for DAGS by Debra Oswald, directed by Di Minehan, onstage March /April 2019
DAGS is a funny and compassionate look at the trials of adolescence and the journey of self-discovery. Gillian is a “Dag” dealing with her gung-ho sister, her gossipy girlfriends and her addiction to chocolate. Her quest to be beautiful and popular has pushed her to the edge. Will she survive?
The cast consist of six females and four males aged 15-20 years. An audition workshop for DAGS will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 10am to 2pm at The Playhouse at 33 Gregory Street Batemans Bay. The workshop will cover the synopsis of the play, the available roles, the director’s vision and the rehearsal expectations.
