Musicians Chris O’Connor, Damian Coen and Don Hopkins will come together to present an evening of classic blues from the 1920s and 30s, as well as some original work, at the Murrah Hall, on Saturday, November 17.

Don Hopkins has been a mainstay of the Sydney blues scene since the 1970s. He was a member of and songwriter for Jim Conway’s Big Wheel and backed international acts such as Chicago harmonica great Carey Bell.
Damian Coen is well known to South Coast audiences, having a reputation for his lyrical harmonica playing and insightful songwriting – a master of old-time blues, jugband and ragtime harmonica. Damian founded the jugband The Mudsteppers in the 1980s, and recently released two critically acclaimed albums.
Chris O’Connor specialises in old time finger-picking and bottleneck blues, playing songs from artists such as Tommy Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson and Memphis Minnie. Chris will be representing the Sydney Blues Society at the 2019 International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
The trio played this venue a year ago and relished the acoustics and intimate setting.
Doors open at 6.30pm for curries, music from 7.30pm. Entry $15.
