Young athletes from the newly formed club set two records and brought home a swag of medals and personal bests from a carnival at St Georges Basin last Sunday.
The Little Athletics meet attracted some of the best junior athletes from Wollongong to the Far South coast.
Two Euro Coast athletes, Lachlan Smith (under 17) and Hayden Paull (under 6) broke records in the throws.
Lachlan threw the javelin 39.5m to break a record set in 2014 and Hayden threw the shotput six metres – smashing the previous mark of 4 metres.
Hayden also won the 70m, 100m, 300m, long jump and discus.
Other athletes brought home medals and managed personal best performances during the day.
They included: Ryan Smith (under 14), who won 800m and javelin, and placed in discus, shot and 200m; Tiffany Johnston (under 12); Selby Johnston (under 10); Annabelle Paull (under 11), who took third place in shot put; Cameron Paull (under 10), who came third in long jump, fourth in discus, second in the 100m, second in the 200m and second in the 60m hurdles; Jundamurra Smith (under 9), who came fourth in shot put, fifth in long jump, second in 100m and second in 200m; Summer Hage (under 10), who came second in 60m hurdles, second in long jump, third in 100m and third in discus; and Rogan Hage (under 8), who came second in 60m hurdles, second in 70m, third in 100m and third in long jump.
The next carnival will be held in Nowra on Sunday November 25.
Euro Coast Athletics holds competition nights at Mackay Park, Batemans Bay, on Thursdays from 4.30pm for Tiny Tots and 5.30pm for Little Athletes through to seniors.
