Plea for the beach
Today my husband and I visited Tomakin Cove beach for the first time this year and were amazed at how the beach has deteriorated.

The sand is covered with plant life creeping further onto the beach itself and if not looked after the beach will be gone.
We must take care of our coast, as this is what attracts our visitors and helps keep our local economy alive.
Some people have plenty to say regarding the 25m or 50m pool when the importance is a pool for all year round swimming, yet say nothing about our deteriorating beaches that bring twice as many people here than the pool.
I would like to see Eurobodalla Shire Council do more to keep our beaches in reasonable condition.

Big thanks to ‘dog whisperer Yve’
It so pleased me to see your article "Yve is the dog whisperer" (Bay Post online).
It was a fitting tribute to this wonderful lady. It well documented her role in the Narooma Dog Training Club, as well as her pet therapy endeavours.
Recently I had to go through every dog owner’s hardest moments … saying goodbye to your best mate. In my case it was a beautiful female border collie called Daisy.
Daisy and I were involved with the club for a while and Yve had given Daisy lots of attention and me lots of sound advice.
Yve in her quiet and to-the-point manner helped me and Daisy and was with us right till the end. I am not sure how I would have handled the situation without her help and support.
So, whilst Yve is heavily involved in the training and fun side of owning a dog, I know I am not the only one she has helped through these the saddest of times.
The community should be very proud of Yve and she deserves all the accolades she gets. May I also thank Kym and Kate at Narooma Vets, Kim and Sharon at Clyde River Pet Lodge, Sue at Resting Pets Cremations Moruya and my neighbour Maree Vaughan (who Daisy adored) .... all for the care and compassion they showed Daisy and I.

The ATO is calling on all Australians to vote for their favourite entry in this year’s Tax, Super and You People’s Choice competition.
The competition asked students from years 7-12 to pitch creative campaigns encouraging their friends to learn about the importance paying tax and building superannuation. A judging panel will also select winners in the junior and senior categories.
Assistant Commissioner Sally Bektas, one of three judges in the competition, said a record number of entries had been received, and that the standard was extremely high.
“We received over 120 entries and have shortlisted ten finalists. It’s exciting to see how young people view and value the role of tax and super in the community,” Ms Bektas said.
