Matthew Trick, 30, of Sunshine Bay, and Rick Wilson, 21, of Tomakin, had their matters mentioned in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday after being charged with a string of violent offences.
Trick faces one count of affray, common assault and participating in a criminal group.
His alleged co-offender, Wilson, has been charged with three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one count of affray and another of participating in a criminal group.
Trick has pleaded not guilty to affray and common assault, but is yet to enter a plea to the third charge.
Wilson has not yet entered pleas for his five charges.
Police said the alleged incident occurred on September 1 at about 11pm, when the men “set upon an innocent bystander” at the Moruya Waterfront Hotel.
Wilson is alleged to have then assaulted another man, causing actual bodily harm, in Batemans Bay just after midnight on September 2.
Court documents showed the men had lengthy criminal histories and were well-known to police.
Police said Trick had “many criminal associations”, including the Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Gang. Wilson is also alleged to be connected to the gang.
“It is alarming the behaviour the accused has shown the victim involved,” police said of Trick.
Trick has been granted bail, while Wilson remains behind bars.
Their matters will return to court in Batemans Bay on December 17.
