Some 42 members of the Probus clubs of Batemans Bay, Moruya and Tollgates recently enjoyed a six-day tour of the Mudgee region. We visited Mudgee Honey Haven, then on to Goree Park horse stud, which also breeds wagyu beef, where we had a lunch of wagyu burgers then wine tasting.

We also visited Gulgong museums and lovely Prince of Wales opera house, which has the most amazing acoustics. More wineries included Robert Stein’s which not only had wine tasting but an amazing old collection of English motorcycles. A visit to Mudgee observatory was also a very good night.
On the last day we went to Dunn’s Swamp, part of Wollemi National Park. It was a wonderful day of bushwalking and a paddle in the creek. It was then on to a distillery and butterscotch schnapps tasting.
