They include Follow the Fold, A Bushel and A Peck, Guys and Dolls, I’ve Never Been in Love Before, Take Back Your Mink, Luck be a Lady Tonight, Adelaide’s Lament (A Person Can Develop a Cold), Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat and Marry the Man Today.
However, some of the language in the songs may not be so familiar.
In the song Guys and Dolls the term “folderol”, a slang term for jewellery is used by Frank Loesser and may have come from the short stories written by Damon Runyon.
The song is about how guys who are in love do things that they wouldn't ordinarily do.
So the “mug” (guy) recently out of “the jug” (jail), should be staying away from crime, but because he's in love, he's still shoplifting platinum folderol (jewellery).
Why? Because he is doing it for some doll (woman) that he loves.
There are 18 performances of Guys and Dolls, starting on Saturday, from October 27 and running through to Saturday, December 1.

Pantomime workshops
Two traditional pantomimes, Puss in Boots and Mother Goose, both by Ben Crocker, were read and discussed at a workshop at the theatre on Saturday, October 13.
The attendees enjoyed tackling the reading of a different genre and exploring the suitability of the pantomimes as potential productions for inclusion in the theatre program for 2019.
A Shakespeare workshop on Henry IV Part 1 & 2 was held on Sunday, October 14 at the theatre and attended by enthusiasts with a passion for the Bard.
The group delighted in the language and the plot of this play and look forward to exploring more of this work at the next Shakespeare Workshop to be held at 2pm at the theatre on October 28. All are welcome to take part.
