Eurobodalla Shire Council, in partnership with local community groups, is fine-tuning the details for the Eurobodalla rain dances, which will be held simultaneously on Friday, November 23 at Moruya Golf Club, Narooma Golf Club and Club Catalina.
All proceeds from the events will go to help farmers battling the drought, locally and in Cobar, which the council voted to adopt as a sister-shire earlier this year. Each rain dance will feature live entertainment, raffles, charity auctions, and food to share.
Singer, actor and TV presenter Frankie J Holden will emcee at Narooma alongside entertainment by Driving Sideways.
Australian saxophonist, television personality and radio presenter Wilbur Wilde will host the Club Catalina event, with live music from The Pilgrims.
At Moruya comedienne Victoria Haberley will emcee, with live music from Josh Cunningham of the Waifs and The Somedays.
Musician and promoter David White helped connect big name acts with the shire events.
Mr White, in conjunction with business associate Scott McDuff from Australian National Events, has also generously donated a one-of-a-kind Jack Daniel’s acoustic guitar, signed by legends Ross Wilson, Richard Clapton, Frankie J Holden, Wilbur Wilde and Joe Camilleri. The guitar is valued at up to $10,000 and is the major raffle prize.

Eurobodalla Shire Mayor Liz Innes praised Mr White and the community for their generous support.
“We’ve had a wonderful response from the community and the scene has been set for three great events – now all we need is for people to buy tickets,” she said.
“It’s a fantastic cause, and I really encourage the whole community to get behind it. Despite recent rain, 99 per cent of the state remains in drought or is drought affected, including the Eurobodalla. With a long, hot summer predicted, our farmers need our continued support.”

The council has been working with Batemans Bay Lions Club, Quota International of Narooma, Narooma Golf Club, Moruya Golf Club, Club Catalina and SAGE Farmers Market to bring the events to life.
Raffle tickets will be available at Moruya, Narooma and Batemans Bay Libraries, Council’s customer service centre in Moruya, Visitor Information Centres, and through the Batemans Bay Lions and Narooma Quota.
