Ultimate Campers, which once produced up to 120 camper trailers a year, was placed into Voluntary Administration on October 10, with Tim Heesh, of TPH Advisory, appointed administrator.
A statement released by the company said the business had been placed in a “stand still” position operationally to give it the best prospects of finding suitable investors.
“It is the primary focus of the Administrators to seek offers from suitable interested parties,” the statement said.
“The Administrators have not as yet had an opportunity to investigate the complete financial position or what led to the company’s financial distress however that will be part of the Voluntary Administration program moving forward and creditors will be informed as the timetable unfolds.”
The statement said it was unknown why the company was in “financial distress”, and that creditors would be kept informed – but would likely suffer a loss.
“The dates for creditors meetings will be posted on the company's website in the coming days.”

Off Road Camping Accessories Pty Limited t/a Ultimate Campers is described as a “well-established iconic and highly-awarded Australian manufacturer of off-road camper trailers operating from a small regional community”.
It began in the backyard shed of Eurobodalla couple Michael and Wendy Hackett in 1994.
Mr Hackett’s background as a boat builder saw the firm float to the top of Australia’s camper trailer industry in better times, selling products that look more like yachts than caravans.
No mention was made of the impact on current staff. Phone calls to the company’s Moruya head office went unanswered on Thursday. The Bay Post/Moruya Examiner is seeking further comment.
