Brett Woolridge’s impressive 112 wasn’t enough to secure victory for the Batemans Bay Cricket Club’s fourth-grade side at Hanging Rock Oval on Saturday.

The home side were given a target of 236 for victory after a batting masterclass from Berry-Shoalhaven Heads opener Sam Fletcher.
Fletcher hit 26 boundaries, including four sixes, in his mammoth total of 161 not out.
While Fletcher’s fellow top-order batsmen fell around him, he torched the Batemans Bay bowling with a classic display of one-day batting to guide his side to a score of 8/235.
Thomas Brown was the best bowler for the home side, taking figures of 4/36.
Batemans Bay’s run chase got off to a good start, as openers Tyler Frawley and Bailey King got through to the drinks break unscathed.
Drinks broke their momentum though, as King was dismissed in the first over after the break for 23.
Brett Woolridge joined Frawley at the crease, and the two put on a partnership of 33 before Frawley fell for 34.
Jed and Chad Salmon both provided some resistance alongside Woolridge, but when Woolridge was dismissed for 112, the Bay’s run chase was all but over.
Ted Street was the best bowler for Berry-Shoalhaven Heads, as he took figures of 3/41, while economical bowling from Joshua Weakley and Jasper Arnold held the Bay in check.
