Walter, the two-year-old thoroughbred, is fondly considered a bit of a Wally, but one his owners have high hopes for. He is pictured with Jack Pritchard, of Malua Bay.
Walter was not ready to start at Moruya Racecourse today, but plenty of others were. Check out Joel Erickson’s coverage of the underdog who stormed home in race three, and Lynda Bundy’s big win. Then there’s Zoe Cartwright’s report on the future of the industry in the shire.
Our other favourite picture this week is that of Shayne McArthur and Jude Rafferty. Shayne was first diagnosed with cancer 20 years ago and has travelled that rough road three times. This time she had an angel at her shoulder.
The future of medical services has been a hot topic this week. Labor has promised an MRI licence at Batemans Bay hospital, if the NSW Government overhauls the radiography department. Dr Michael Holland wants both political parties to consider a bigger picture.
John-Pierre Favre travels the world sketching buildings such as Château de Chambord.
He will be sad to see the Batemans Bay bridge go, but has done his best to preserve it pen and ink. Check out his gallery. He loves to use his art to raise funds for good causes.
