Engelbrecht made his first-grade debut in St George’s loss to Randwick Petersham at Coogee Oval on Saturday.
His debut saw him play in the same XI as Australian Test cricketer Josh Hazlewood, and he also played against suspended Test star David Warner.
St George was sent in to bat after Randwick Petersham won the toss, and they got off to a good start through Nicholas Stapleton (108) and Blake MacDonald (104).
Engelbrecht got to the crease in the inning, but only managed three runs from five balls faced as St George scored 6/277.
Randwick Petersham chased down the target thanks to a big score of 155 not out from David Warner.
Engelbrecht bowled six overs in the inning, with figures of 0/43.
He’ll be hoping to keep his spot on the first-grade side when St George plays Hawkesbury this weekend.
