“Rather than raise money for our own school this year, money was raised for a drought-affected school, namely Candelo Public School,” assistant principal Lyndall Jackson said.

“Students and community raised $7500 and principal Maree Dielman and the school leaders went to present the cheque to the school.”
In a letter to parents, Ms Dielman said Candelo was “directly affected by the drought and families within this community need our support”.
The funds could be used to pay school fees, for the breakfast club, excursions and gatherings.
On Thursday, September 13, staff members were stationed around the school oval as students ran laps and got “blasted by colour”.

“It was such a fantastic event for all involved, literally stopping the cars out the front to check out the fun,” Ms Jackson said.
“Individual students raised as much as $300. It was such a super effort.”
The school said coloured powders used were made from natural ingredients (maize starch and vegetable colours).
