"I am absolutely thrilled that the Eurobodalla Shire Council has secured NSW Government funding of $2.167 million for some fantastic local projects,” Mr Constance said.
"These projects will include the redevelopment of Bill Smyth Oval in Narooma, revitalization of Captain Oldrey Park, lighting of various local sports fields, the Hill Street pathway in Batemans Bay and a major investment into the redevelopment of the Moruya Library and Arts Centre.”
Eurobodalla Shire Council will also financially contribute to the projects.
Mayor Liz Innes welcomed the grants.
"Construction of the library and arts centre in Moruya is well underway and the $1 million allows us to move to stage two of that project,” Cr Innes said.
“It's also a great result for our shire's sporting clubs, who'll see better lighting at a number of fields and improvements at two of our bigger parks at Bill Smyth Oval in Narooma and Captain Oldrey at Broulee.”
Projects funded across the Eurobodalla include:
$1 Million for the Moruya Library and Arts Centre redevelopment.
$380,000 for upgrades at Bill Smyth Oval Narooma.
$353,700 for the revitalization of Captain Oldrey Park.
$350,000 for field lighting at Bill Smyth Oval, Bodalla Oval and Gundary Oval.
$83,722 for construction of a path linking the Batemans Bay CBD to Mackay Park.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the roll out of the second round of projects takes Stronger Country Communities funding to $300 million.
"I congratulate local councils and look forward to the local sports and community facility improvements that will make the region an even more attractive place to work and raise a family," Mr Barilaro said.
"The $300 million Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the NSW Government's $1.6 billion Regional Growth Fund that is employing local tradies, putting local suppliers to work and providing the right environment to operate regional businesses," he said.
