Tuross Head Country Club
Tuross Head Country Club men's golf stableford competition held last Saturday resulted in a win for well known club golfer Ian Lawson with a round of 39 points.
Peter Johnston filled second placing with 37 points ahead of Peter Garn, David Bray and Brenden Taylor who all finished on 35 points.
Nearest the pins were won by A grade player Colin Houghton on the 4th hole with 2.15m.
Arron Monopoli was best on the 6th with 2.52 m and Peter Duggan was closest on the 7th with 4.08m.
B grade golfer Ian Lawsin won the 4th with 4.82m and Kevin Dukes the 7th with 8.20m.
C grade player Joe Lambert was awarded the 4th hole with 5.87m and Peter Duggan was the winner on the 6th with 4.08m.
Thursday's medley stableford competition was won by Peeter Garn with 38 points ahead of Trevor Jones 37, Ian Kingston and Colin houghton who both finisshed with 36 points.
Nearest the pins were won by Colin Houghton on the 4th hole, and Colin was also closest on the 6th.
Trevor Jones was the winner on the 7th hole.
Golfers are reminded that the Tuross Head Country Club Senior Open, an 18 hole stableford competition, is being held on Sunday September 23rd.
There will be awards for men and ladies overall winners together with A and B grade divisions and runner ups.
The format for the day will be a shotgun start at 8.30 am for 9am hitoff.
Entries can be made at the Golf Magic console at the club.
Tuross Head Ladies
Tuesday’s game was a stroke event as well as the play off for the gold medal with 18 starter’s. The winner of the medal event in division one was – Teri Swanbury with a 73 net. In division two it was – Annette Manton with a 79 net. Congratulations to both girls. Runner up in division one was – Marie Muriwai with a 75 net. Division two daily winner was – Gail Rogers with a 75 net. In division three it was – Elsa Shearer with a 75 net followed by – Ann Challender with a 78 net. The Golden hole in division one was won by – Marie Muriwai and in division two it was – Dorothy Madden. Nearest the pin on the sixth was won by – Marie Mapleson. Balls went to – Pauline Nash, Kay McLeod, Judy Apps, Gayle MacAlpine & Wendy Schmid. Next week the ladies will play in a split six event.

Tuross Head Veterans
On Wednesday, 59 starter’s took advantage of the glorious spring weather to play in a stroke & putt event, as well as the final round of the club championships. The winner with a score of 27 net was – Noel Downie. Second place went to – Mike Birks with a 29 net, followed by – Bruce Ware also with a 29 net giving him third place. In fourth place it was – Herb Muriwai with a 30 net. The Bradmans was awarded to – Rob Nash and the Accuracy Drive went to – Des Jackson. Nearest the pins - 4th – Kevin Dukes (in the hole) 6th – David Williams. 7th - Annette Manton & Ken Brown. The Putting competition was won by - Len Rogers with 13 putts. Ball or Chocolate went to - Frank Pomfret, Paul Pereira - 33 net. Tony Crook, Noel Fletcher, Robin Green, Neil Watson - 34 net. Kevin Dukes, Mike Kermode, Marcel Kors, Annette Manton - 35 net. Greg Smith, David Williams, Richard Kelly, Gayle MacAlpine - 36 net. Next week will be a single stableford event. A reminder that the Vet’s monthly Monday game will be on Monday, 17th September, 9.00 am for 9.30 start.
Moruya Ladies
The Moruya ladies enjoyed a two-person ambrose this week. While the greenkeepers were busy coring and sanding the greens the ladies played two 9 hole rounds on the first 9 holes. Most pairs teamed well together and the scores were favourable due to the opportunities provided by the ambrose format. Division 1 winners were Dee Meek and Noeline Cowdroy with a net 68, Val Nixon and Joanne Dixon on 70 filled the runner position while Barbara Kennedy and Marie Muriwai were 2nd runners up on 70 1/4. Val Nixon won nearest to the pin on the 5th and Chris Edwards won NTP on 6th both in open division. Congratulations to Mindy Ashbury for playing great golf in the Saturday competition scoring 42 pts to win the day.
