Local mountain biker riders had success in Canberra on the weekend, tackling the tracks of Mt Stromlo as they competed in the Shimano MTB 4hr and 7hr races.

Jack McFarlane and Nicholas Usher competed in the U18 category of the gruelling race which sees riders attempting to complete the most laps of the track in four hours. The boys had a successful day with Jack McFarlane achieving first place and Nicholas Usher third place.
Paul Morgan also achieved podium success achieving first place in his age category and Angus Murphy came 14th in the competitive 30-39 age division.
Corey Dimmer had success in the gruelling 7hr race, achieving third spot in his age division.
For anyone interested in or thinking about getting into mountain biking, either socially or competitively, the Eurobodalla Mountain Bike Club are running a Come’n’Try Mountain Biking day on Sunday, September 23 from 10am at Deep Creek Dam near the Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens. There will be loan bikes available to tackle the 8km loop around the dam, demo bikes including E-bikes to test ride and a sausage sizzle. Rocky Trail Entertainment are also running a time challenge and Dynamic Motivation are providing workshops to improve your MTB skills.
