The Batemans Bay Rogue Waves finished off one of the most dominant Eurobodalla Netball Association seasons in recent history on Saturday with a big grand-final win over the Bodalla Bandits.
The Waves finished the regular season on top of the ladder with a perfect 12-0 record, while the Bandits finished in fourth spot with a 6-6 record.
The Bandits came into the match in good form, as they hadn’t lost a match in almost a month, a run that included back-to-back finals wins over the Broulee B Graders and Broulee Breakers.
They enjoyed a fast start to the grand final as well, as they took advantage of some inaccurate shooting from the Waves to lead at the end of the first quarter.
Batemans Bay kicked in to gear from that point, as the Waves’ two shooters found their range in a dominant second quarter.
The second half continued along the same script, as Batemans Bay ran away with a 60-38 win. It’s a breakthrough premiership for the Waves after losses in the preliminary final in both 2016 and 2017.
In B Grade, the Bodalla Berries beat the Broulee Blazers 40-28. Check out some of our best photos from both games in the gallery below.
