But for Hyung Joo Kim, balloon pilot, the literal journey is a dearly-held ambition. He has just been waiting for the right weather.
On Monday, September 3, the wind blew in the right direction – but too slowly. Undeterred, Kim, who is chief pilot with Balloon Aloft Canberra, decided to fly.
He was accompanied by fellow balloon pilots Craig Farrell and Suze McKenzie and his ground crewman was Jacob Brown.
They flew from Corrigan’s Reserve, past Long Beach, and landed near Nelligen.
Kim still hopes to fly from the coast to Braidwood.

If anybody has managed to achieve a long flight inland from the Eurobodalla shire, the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner would love to hear about it.
