Police said several break and enters occurred between Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18, and have urged householders to be vigilant with security around the home.
“I’d like to take the opportunity to remind everybody of their responsibility for their own home security,” a police spokesperson said.
“The unfortunate scenario is, thieves strike upon the opportunity for lapsed security measures, such as open windows or unlocked doors.
“If you lock it, this opportunity doesn’t exist for would-be thieves.”
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, police are investigating the alleged theft of a carton of cigarettes from a Batemans Bay tobacconist this week.
Police said a carton of Pall Mall Red 20's cigarettes, worth close to $200, was stolen from Cignall at the Batemans Bay Bridge Plaza on Tuesday at about 12.40pm.
Anyone with information on either of these incidents should contact Batemans Bay Police on 4472 0099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
