The South Coast and Tablelands Holstein Sub Branch will host the NSW Nowra Holstein Spring Fair on Saturday, August 25 at the Nowra Showground.
Sub branch president Paul Condon said 110 entries had been received for the show.
“We have cattle coming from Victoria, Jerry’s Plains near Singleton, a good number from the Bega and Cobargo areas, and of course, locally,” he said.
“I must commend and congratulate all the exhibitors who will turn out cattle this weekend in what have been extremely challenging conditions.
“It is an excellent effort. Conditions, as everyone knows, have been challenging to say the least.

“Because of that situation and the changing dairy climate it is good for farmers to get off the farm and celebrate their cattle breedings. It is also a way to promote their own cattle and just a good chance to catch up.”
He said even predictions of rain for Saturday's show were welcomed.
“I don't think there would be too many exhibitors who would be upset standing out in the ring on Saturday getting drenched,” he said.
“However the forecast seems to be changing hourly.”
Glen Gordon, of Gorbro Holsteins, Cohuna, Victoria will be the judge on Saturday.
Judging will start at 9am and will include classes for junior handlers (under 18 years) and a red and white Holstein section.
Twenty one classes will be staged during the day, including the awarding of Junior, Intermediate and Senior champions.
There will also be a junior champion of the youth show, as well as a junior champion of the open show.
Red and white champions will also be awarded in each division as well as best uddered awards in each individual milk class.
Awards will also be made to the handlers - juniors (8-11 years), intermediate (11-15 years) and senior (15-18 years). Age division will be the handlers’ age on the day of the show.
Spectators are most welcome. Full canteen facilities will also be available on the day.
For the past two years the sub branch has staged the state show and annual sale and despite the sale being cancelled this year, Mr Condon said there would still be a chance for farmers to get together with a social event planned Friday evening.
“DLS [Dairy Livestock Services] is hosting the social evening for local farmers and exhibitors at the showground,” he said.
“We have a marquee and there will be food and drinks and a chance for everyone to catch up.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the sponsors and exhibitors who are supporting this weekend’s event and also those who backed our shows the previous two years which were a great success.”
